The only thing which has changed slightly is the purpose and design of the toys. The history of play toys roots back the earliest times in the human civilization process. The first toys to be used by humankind were simple stones. However over time, several things have taken place as the humankind undergoes evolution. As from the earliest days of the humankind, the human being has developed desire to play and have fun. Even if it was not given the deserved attention, the desire to have fun was great not only amongst children but also with adults. This is what promoted the evolution of play toys for children. They designed these simple toys typically from wood and other related materials. Most times, the Greeks and Romans made these play toys for their children at home. It was a task done by the parents comfortably at home. At this time, there are absolutely no toy stores or shop and besides, they were not making toys for commercial purposes. However this trend did not proceed for long and the history of play toys took a different twist at the middle ages. This is when the humankind started developing quality play toys.
